Arrival in Mexico – Llegada en México
On Tuesday, June 14 my friend Diane picked me up at my house at 6:30 am to travel to Mexico. That afternoon, four colleagues and I were arriving in Cancun.
Esa tarde, cuatro colegas y yo estábamos llegando a Cancún, México.
We did not check any bags and made it through customs quickly. An hour after arriving we were checking into the hotel. Grand Riviera Princess is a beautiful resort.
My friend Sara pointed out in the lobby that I would soon have been to all of the cities listed here. And by now I have been to them all!
Sara and I shared a room, and this was the view from our balcony. Not bad, right?! Can you spot the lizard?
We had nothing planned for that evening, so we hit the pool before going to dinner. This was actually the only time that I was in the pool for the rest of the trip.
We spotted a lot of wildlife around the resort. I loved the lizards.
Vimos muchos animales en el resorte. Me gustaban los lagartos.
This was the first coati that I had ever seen, but it was not the last. There were tons of them living at the resort and all across the peninsula.
There were also a lot of cats at the resort. I could not resist stopping to pet some.
También había muchos gatos alrededor del hotel. No podía resistir acariciar algunos.
My only complaint was that the resort only had WiFi in the lobby. It was not such a problem for me since I have an international plan that allows me free data and text messaging around the world. Everyone else had to head to the lobby to get in contact with the outside world.
I am currently in Argentina, but I will be writing about my trip to Mexico for the next couple of weeks. Douglas is back in New York holding down the fort with Kahlua, Crème and Ponche Crema.

That sounds exactly like something I would do! hahaha
Coatis, cats, and lizards–what could be better? We saw coatis in Panama. Looks like you’re having a fun summer!
It has been a fun summer. I am fortunate to be able to travel as much as I do!
