Daenerys Targaryen Halloween Costume
Normally, for Halloween, I go all out. For the past four years, I have had a great idea in my mind for themed costumes for Douglas and me. After I get his approval, whether he wants to give it or not, IÂ track down all of the materials to make the costumes happen. We have been House and Cuddy, Batman and Robin, a Zombie Bride and Groom and a couple from Duck Dynasty.
This year Douglas had to work and was not able to go to the Halloween party with me. Apparently, I have a harder time coming up with solo costume ideas. Luckily, this summer my friend Nadia gave me a Roman goddess costume that failed to sell in our yard sale. It is this exact costume.
I decided to pair it with the wig that I wore last year for Duck Dynasty. As soon as I put the wig on, I thought, “Oh my god, I look just like my cousin Jacqueline.”
Some of you do not know my cousin Jacqueline, but she is gorgeous. Here is a picture of us at the Halloween party.
Ok. Maybe that was not the best picture of her. Here she is with me at my wedding. The big mouth runs in my family as you can see.
All kidding aside, Jacqueline is a beautiful person inside and out. Here we are with her parents in Jamaica.
It turned out that I was not the only one that thought that I looked like Jacqueline. At the party people kept calling me Jacqueline and then realizing that I was not her. Others told me over and over how much I looked like her.
Several people also asked if I was supposed to be Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. Douglas has prohibited me from reading or watching Game of Thrones because he thinks that the violence will bother me. He is probably right. However, since I did not have a plan when I dressed up I told everyone that I was dressed as my cousin Jacqueline dressed as Daenerys Targaryen. The costume was a big hit.
Here is a closeup of some of the details. I wore my Roman sandals that I bought over fifteen years ago and a snake bracelet that is about ten years old.
So, that is me dressed as my cousin Jacqueline dressed as Daenerys Targaryen.
As for the party, my aunt, uncle and cousins went all out, and everyone had a blast. Their Halloween decorations put mine to shame. This is only a small fraction of all the decor that was scattered around the house.
I really have the greatest family ever. I love these guys!
Happy Homemaking!

It’s amazing how a change of hair color and style really changes a person’s looks. You and your cousin are very much alike, especially in the lips and mouth area. (And I don’t mean the wide open similarity.) Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
The family resemblance is strong among us! Also changing your hair does change your overall look a lot. There are teachers at the my school that the students and other people confuse with me. I swear, the only thing that we have in common is curly brown hair. It seems to be the only thing that people look at!
I agree! Great costume and great family. I particularly like the photo that looks like guillotine death for mimes.
You just cannot trust those mimes. Death penalty for all!
Your costume is fabulous! I can really relate to the skeleton at the typewriter … reminds me of work!
Oh no! You need a new job!
