DIY Denim Chair Update
Last weekend, I did a lot of work on the denim chair. Of course, there is not much to show for my hours of toil. This is going to be a long, slow project.
That is not to say that I am not enjoying it. My stitches have been getting faster, and Douglas and I came up with a system where he threads one needle while I am stitching away with another. I am loving the look… of the front of the pillow. The back is still pretty bare.
This is a great projects for long, cold winter evenings. It reminds me of the winter that I crocheted my afghan. This is the same kind of tedious, repetitive movement that is perfect to do while watching television. I have a hard time sitting and watching without doing anything productive, so I am grateful for this chore. I love imagining what it is going to look like when it is finished. Douglas’ denim Ironman pillows help, don’t you think?
Douglas and I have been watching Battlestar Gallactica while I work on this. Of course, Crème keeps me company. Usually, Kahlua does as well. I have been too busy this week with work, but I am hoping to get more done this weekend.
Happy Homemaking!
While you are sewing patches of denim to pass long winter evenings, we are admiring the blooming cherry trees across the street. Yet, it may get down to 29 degrees Monday night! Such a weird winter! But this chair will look awesome and inviting when you are done. Crème will make sure your stitches are nice and even.
I don’t think that spring is ever going to come to New York. We are having another storm today! Enjoy your cherry blossoms. 🙂
It’s looking good!
Thanks! I wish I were a little farther along, but I have to appreciate how much I have done so far.
Oops, see my comment on the library post about the chair. Posted on wrong comment stream (I am old enough to be pre-internet).
No worries! I am also pre-internet. 😉
