Halloween Decor – Adornos de Halloween
It took me a while to get the Halloween decorations up this year. We are getting the house painted, and so we aren’t putting anything outside. Last night I decided to get on with it. I decorated the living room with the help of the cats. Crème takes her job very seriously; she is the best Halloween decoration ever.
Ponche tried to fit in as well. He thinks that Halloween should include more than black cats.
My decorations this year are simple. The first step was to cover the furniture in white sheets and cover the mirrors with cheesecloth. It can’t get any easier than that.
I slipped a mask on this lamp.
Puse una máscara en esta lámpara.
Then I put up some pieces that I have purchased over the years: a skull, pumpkins, the owl, the spider.
The bone wreath was a bit more difficult. I have been saving bones for a while. I wired them onto the wreath last week.
Last year we used the masks outside, but this year I used clothes pins to attach them to white pillowcases and the black cape and put them on the bookshelves.
A witch’s hat and these pumpkins that my mom bought for me at a thrift shop rounded out the top of this bookcase.
I feel better now that Halloween is represented at my house.

Spooky!! And Freaky. YIKES! Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
Exactly the mood I was going for! It might be a good thing for us not to get foster children in the next couple of weeks. They could get the wrong first impression of us!
I have never really gotten into the Halloween decorating. I used to do a lot of fall decor, but this past while I haven’t bothered to use it, as I just don’t have time. This weekend is the first weekend in a year that I have taken time to decorate or change anything. It feels so good! 🙂
BTW girl..yours looks super festive! good job!
(how can you tell it’s morning..lol forgot to finish my comment before I hit publish!)
Have a great weekend!
It feels good to change things up, doesn’t it? I am glad I finally got around to decorating for the holiday. The pumpkins will stay up through Thanksgiving (U.S. Thanksgiving!) You enjoy your weekend as well.
I like the sheets on the chairs. It has a practical use, too, but don’t tell Crème and Ponche.
It’s time to get out my blown-glass pumpkins for the season. I wonder how many more will part with their twisted stems due to playful kittens??
Crème and Ponche are having so much fun with the sheets that I don’t even think they would mind. They love hanging out under the furniture hidden by the sheets and popping out at each other. In fact that is what was happening in the second to last photo where you can only see a couple of blurs along the bottom. I hope your pumpkins stay intact!
love the rat in the trap, too! LOL!!! great job with the decoration! it looks sooo spooky! i would not want to get up in the middle of the night and see any of those baby faces… *shudder*
Thankfully I don’t have to go into the living room when I get up in the middle of the night. It is spooky!
