Haunted Halloween Hutch
Last weekend I went to the local Goodwill store. I came home with a bunch of things. Among them were these Halloween decorations. These set me back an entire three dollars. You might not be able to find them that cheaply, but you can buy the pumpkins, a similar owl and some skulls.
I found a place for them on top of the bookcase.
It seemed that something else was needed to complete the look. On the way home from school the other day, I stopped at the hardware store to buy cheesecloth. However, it needed to be a little more raggedy. I solved that by calling in my two trusty assistants.
They set right out to use their claws to tear the cheesecloth just the right amount.
I used painter’s tape to attach the cheesecloth to the inside of the doors. Now it was looking more Halloweeny but not enough.
A few friendly spiders helped me out this time. They wove their webs over the top of the bookcase. If you do not have any arachnids living in your house, you can always buy fake cobwebs. They are not quite the same, but they will do.
The final touch was a rat in a trap on the floor in front.
Of course, Halloween pictures should be taken at night. It is only a start, but I am starting to get in the Halloween spirit with my Haunted Hutch. I hope you are too!
Happy Halloween!
Love that your cats helped create the perfet decor. Also, big plus that you used real cobwebs!
😉 I could not do anything without the helpful critters in my house.
Love the cats playing with the cheesecloth. And your great bargains. Wow! Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
You never know with thrift shops. Sometimes I go numerous times and never find anything, and then one day I find a million bargains. It is hit or miss.
