It Finally Feels Like Christmas
This weekend, Douglas and I finally started decorating for Christmas. It was about time! This year we decided to put the tree back in front of the window. It has not been there since 2012, back when I was taking really lousy pictures… not that they have gotten that much better, but I try!
Ponche immeditately claimed a box. He was not sure what was going on. Soon he realized that the box with the tree in it was a lot more fun.
Crème got in the box, and then jumped out and tried to look innocent when we started taking pictures.
She also got in on the action while Douglas was trying to change the fabric on the drum. He threatened not to let her out, but we all know he would never do that.
Poor Kahlua tried to stay out of the way in the bedroom, but she was called into the living room and forced into her Christmas sweater by Douglas. Doesn’t she look miserable? I swear she is giving him the evil eye in that second picture.
As you can see we had lots of witnesses at every step of the process.
This is not the final product, but it was all we have done so far. I think that it looks nice.
Ponche and Crème are exhausted from the exertion and are napping in their newly decorated digs. Meanwhile Kahlua is back in her corner in the bedroom miserable as can be. Douglas forgot to take off her sweater!
This year it just was not the same decorating our tree without our resident Muslim. Last year we had a blast. Speaking of Menderes, yesterday we received a box full of chocolate from Germany. Douglas and I appreciate the chocolate, but the cats are really just thrilled that he sent them another box.
Happy Christmas!
P.S. Here are more pictures if you want more.
Looks fun even if her husband was a bit of a grump and took a while to get into the spirit. I think it is the dread of dealing with the lights(untangling, finding/replacing bad bulbs, etc). Usually once past the lights though it gets better.
You did dance!
Love the action pic of Crème and Ponche with the box! We have to get busy, too. Have the tree, but it’s still outside in the rain. I do have some decorations up, though … I never took down my snowflakes last year! (Needed them to keep cool last summer. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!)
Hee Hee. I still have decorations up from last year too!
So cute how you and your husband work together as a team,
darling pet helpers;-)
Everything is much easier add a team. That is why it is so important to marry the right person…and adopt the perfect pet assistants! I am fortunate to have them.
Your house is very “Christmasy” all year due to your color palette. With the added decorations it’s over-the-top beautiful. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
You are so sweet. Maybe that is why I love this holiday- it’s my colors!
your tree looks fabulous! and your other decorations. love the kitty helpers. poor kahlua! she says “no more sweaters, daddy!”
Thanks! Kahlua is a trooper. She has to put up with the sweater at least one day every year. We are lucky that she is so easy going.
Oh, please get Kahlua off her sweater, she deserves to have some fun as well 😉
Oh, trust me, Kahlua would not have enjoyed it even if we had taken her sweater off. She does not approve of any change what-so-ever, and we were making many of them!
