It’s the Little Things – Son las cosas pequeñas
When you own a house, there is a never-ending list of things to do. Sometimes, they are excited things like getting the entire exterior repainted or replacing the counter. Other times it is that the bit of wall where the backsplash was removed needs spackled and painted, and you can never find the time to do it.
So that got patched and painted.
Entonces decidimos hacerlo por fin.
It looks so much better now.
Se mejoró muchísimo.
The kitchen doorway also looked pretty bad. It was another project that we just never got around to.
Since I had some paint from the door left in the roller pan, I decided to paint the door. Douglas sanded the frame, but not the trim in front due to some confusion.
I ended up painting around that part, because I had already started painting, and I didn’t want to get dust in the fresh paint by sanding it. Hopefully it will get done soon; at least it looks better than it did before.
Finally, the trim in the hallway had been splashed when I had the floors refinished back in 2010. It had driven me crazy since then but not enough for me to pull out the paint and fix it.
I used the remainder of the paint in the pan to finally cover up the splashes and a couple of chips that have happened over the years.
This makes me more anxious than ever to get the rest of the trim painted. It will look so much better once it is done. How many more years do you think will go by before I actually do something about it?
I hate painting base molding!! It’s so awkward to get down that low. I don’t blame you a bit for not finishing the trim. But the kitchen spot looks great!
Painting base molding is the worst, but I am going to have to suck it up and get it done. It is pathetic that I keep putting it off.
These small, nagging projects are the ones that stymie me. Great job checking a whole bunch of irritations off your list. I’d make a list just to have the pleasure of checking them off. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
I am a big fan of making a list to check things off. It is very satisfying.
Little things make a huge difference!
You are so right. Now I just have to keep working on them. There are many more to be done!
very nice! it’s funny how once you start touching up the little areas, you start to see more and more and MORE of them!
And once you see them, you can never unsee them, and they start to drive you insane!
