Jet Lag and Spring
Yesterday I failed to post about the kitchen. That is because last weekend we failed to make any progress on the kitchen. Then, I was going to write a post about something else and fell asleep at 5:30 p.m. Jet lag is kicking my butt! So, I will do what I normally do when I have not accomplished anything in my house and show you pictures of pretty flowers and hope that this will distract you.
My house might be a mess, but my yard has a gorgeous purple carpet.
Unfortunately, the beautiful view is marred by this mess at the neighbor’s house.
At least they are replacing an unsightly cement block wall with nice stone. The bad part is that there were cement blocks crushing my bushes. When I asked the workmen to move them, they told me that they were not on my property. Ummm. Yes, they are. Besides, even if those bushes were on my neighbor’s property, would he really want them killing his bushes?
They moved the blocks when I asked, but there is still a pile of dirt on other bushes. They promised to clean it up when they were finished with the wall. I will not hold my breath.
To get over my annoyance, I took more pictures of flowers. I love this tiny lily.
Then, I noticed that the front garden was looking poorly.
I cleaned it up. Suddenly, it feels like spring.
I am so excited to be working outside again. Get ready for more garden updates in the coming weeks!
The truth is that things are at a stand still in the kitchen for a while. We still have to figure out the wiring before we can tile the backsplash, and we have to do that before we can finish the painting. Spring is an extremely busy season for Douglas, so it might be a while before the work recommences. You do not have to worry, however, I will still be working on projects.
Happy Homemaking!
Isn’t it exciting to be able to work in the garden again? The first thing I do when coming back from school is getting my good clothes off, putting my old jeans on and go straight in the garden! Sleep you jetlag off!
It is wonderful to be back in outside. I love to work in the garden in spring. Once it starts to get hot I don’t like to be outside, but spring is awesome. I feel I have finally overcome the jetlag and we are doing a lot of work in the yard this weekend.
