Merry Christmas, Every One!
And for all of my friends that do not celebrate Christmas, I wish you a peaceful day and happy holidays.
I am thankful for all of my blog readers. You make all of the work worthwhile. Thank you for following along with our (very slow) progress as we remake our little cape into the Cape of Dreams.
So, from all of us here at the Cape of Dreams, sincerest thanks and best wishes on this day and for all of 2014!
This blog post originally ended here, but I decided to give you a behind the scenes look at the creation of our Christmas card.
We had a blast during the photo shoot. We took the pictures while my host family was visiting from Venezuela. We had to reposition the couch in front of a wall and pull a bunch of props from our boxes of Christmas decor. Crème is sporting a hat and scarf she borrowed from a teddy bear, while Kahlua donned a hat with a chin strap that I bought on sale last year. You can tell from the joy in their eyes how they felt about their modeling careers. Posing with the wild beasts turned out to be quite amusing.
I do not know how this one failed to make the card.
Almost. Crème, quit trying to escape!
My mother tried to placate her while I fiddled with the camera.
Once we had the money shot, my host sister Virggi decided that she wanted a pic and put on my sweater and hat.
I donned Douglas’ red shirt and joined her.
Soon everyone was getting in on the action. Virggi and her husband, Jesi.
My host parents.
My mom and her husband.
My host sister, Maru, and my brother, Justin. With Crème, of course!
And one last shot with everyone. It was so wonderful to have my Venezuelan family here and have them meet my mother for the first time.
Happy Homemaking!
