Moving My Map
Since I gave Douglas a picture for his birthday that we hung in the living room where the map used to be, we then needed to put the map somewhere else. I thought that it would look better in the guest bedroom, and before I left for Oklahoma we decided exactly where we wanted it.
It is not easy to stand on a bed hanging a map when you have a kitten crawling around your feet. Luckily, no animals were harmed in the making of this post… Douglas avoided injury as well.
Ponche is getting to be almost as good of an inspector as Crème. He just needs to learn to stay away from the feet.
We eyeballed the placement as Douglas held the bar with the level. I then climbed on the bed and hit each screw with a hammer to leave a mark in the wall where he should put the anchors.
By the time I returned from my trip the map was already on the wall. I think that it looks great.
I hung the map of the United States that had been over the bed on the other wall. I also got to mark a few more roads from our trips this spring and summer.
Here are the pictures of the bedroom last month in the house tour and now. What do you think of the changes?
Happy Homemaking!
Looks great! Love you new kitty!
He is fitting right into the family.
Great changes! And Ponche is just too cute trying to help Daddy!
Well, you might call it help, but he is certainly underfoot a lot.
The bolder color map over the bed is a winner. Maps are always such great graphic decorative objects. Love the room. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
It is great to see this room finally coming together. It was a dumping ground for so long. I really like it now.
Looks good! The bigger map over the bed and the smaller map over the dresser is better scale. That headboard is pretty, too. Nice job, Ponche!
That was my great grandparents’ bed. I have always loved it, and I think that the map makes it stand out even more.
