Mums the Word

Back in the beginning of October I shared the pictures of the front gardens with the goldenrod and white flowers. Does anyone have an idea what those white flowers are?

By the end of October the the goldenrod was dead and the mums that were starting to blooms were difficult to see.

Kahlua helped me start to clean out the front garden, while Douglas was cleaning out the back yard. I failed to take any pictures in the back.

By the time we were done there were five buckets full of yard waste.

Douglas also pulled out a bunch of junk that we were storing behind the shed. We had every intention of repurposing these things, but we just never got around to it. Someone picked them up, so hopefully they will find a new life somewhere else.

Now we can enjoy the mums and asters. I love the purple and white. Those were my high school colors!

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. 1. i like the pinky/purpley flowers in between the white and purple – it all looks wonderful together! it’s awesome you can have kahlua in the yard without a fence and leash. she’s obviously a smart girl 🙂 were the kitties watching the yard progress from the windows?

    • The funny things is that the pink flowers are the white ones as they start to die. I am not sure why they turn pink before they turn brown, but they are pretty! Kahlua us terrified of being away from us, so she stays very close. It kills the kitties that they cannot stay close, but I do not think that they would be as good about coming when called. 🙂
