New Couch
Don’t worry. The circular purple velvet couch is still in the house. We are still loving it. The problem area was down in the basement. We had several armchairs down there, but there was no place to snuggle.
The only chair that was big enough to fit both Douglas and I was the chair that will someday be the denim chair. Unfortunately, that was also the only chair that Kahlua would sit in, and she would share it with me but got upset if Douglas tried to sit with us.
Then, one day while I was perusing Craigslist, something I do regularly, I found this red Ikea couch for free. All we had to do was pick it up.
Usually Douglas is upset when I tell him that I found something on Craigslist, but it was much easier to convince him this time since it meant that he would be able to sit with me to watch a movie.
Crème was also quick to approve once we brought it home.
Kahlua took a little longer to warm up to the new couch. You know how she hates change. In fact, she still jumps right into the half denim chair whenever she comes downstairs. Once we call her she is willing to join us on the couch.
We celebrated last night by watching a movie together. Only Crème was missing. Apparently, she is not a big fan of the Goonies.
This also provides another place for friends to crash. Who wants to be the first to sleep on our couch?
Happy Homemaking!
I predict justin will be the first one to sleep on it. I do love a red couch!
My money is on Justin as well! You can come by and sit on our red couch anytime you are missing yours!!!
What a great FREE find! Perfect for your TV room!
You cannot beat free!
The downstairs is becoming as stylish as the upstairs. Great call. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
Douglas complained that I am turning his man cave into a living room. Heeheehee.
Love the fact it’s already red – it’s like it was meant to be yours! Great find! That’s really cute about Kahlua going to her favorite chair before deciding on alternate seating arrangements 🙂
It was fate, right?! Kahlua has continued to keep between Douglas and me. I am not sure of whom she is jealous.
