New Fall Look for the Bedroom
If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I like to change things up from time to time. Yesterday, I changed my bedroom for fall and winter. When you last saw my bedroom in the 2014 House Tour, it looked like this.
For the past two years, I went red for the colder months. I really like the warmth that the red gives the room. Please ignore the old watermark. I cannot believe that it has been over two years since I have taken a picture of my bedroom in the winter.
However, I was ready for a change. This year I pulled out my purple velvet comforter. Before putting it in the bedroom, I aired it out on the line. The down duvet came out as well. It was laundered before it was stored, but I wanted to give it a fresh scent before putting it in the bedroom.
While I was working in the house, Douglas was adding more mulch to the garden.
After the bedding had been on the line for a couple of hours, I brought it in to put on the bed. The white duvet is under the velvet comforter. I bought the bedspread years ago at Bombay Company, sometime between 2003-05 when I was living in Chicago. I do not think that it is available anymore.
I am loving the new look, but I think that I would like it even more with a couple of decorative pillows. Maybe I can make some.
By the way, if you would like, you can check out my fall bedroom transformation a couple of years ago. It is hard to believe how much the room has changed in a couple of years.
Happy Homemaking!
P.S. I am sharing this with Wow Us Wednesday, Show Off Friday, Show and Tell Friday, Feathered Nest Friday and Outside the Box.
Love the new look and also love that Creme gets in most of your pictures!
Oh you know her. She wants to be in every picture… except for the ones that I want to take of her!
Perfect colours for winter! My cat also loves to hide under the cover and pillows!
Thanks! I felt much cozier last night crawling into bed than I have the past couple of weeks. It makes me ready for some snow!
Pretty velvet spread! I clicked the link to a couple years ago and had to laugh at little Crème in her short kitten coat! I bet she is warmer now, too!
Tiny Crème was so cute. We had no idea she was going to turn into a long haired cat. She also used to have tiger stripes.
One look at poor Douglas working in shorts out in that cold, damp, leafless weather, and it makes me want to stay in a warm bed. I’ve become a cold weather wimp.
Wait til you see the picture of him shoveling snow in shorts! That is going to make you want to turn on your heat in Arizona.
i love this cozy look, but the bamboo shades are my favorite. i was thinking of changing all of our regular blinds over to them.
btw, i didn’t go to penn state but my boyfriend did. that was the only time i went up for arts fest, it was waaay to crowded. penn state people, man, lol.
The bamboo shades are great. We bought them at Bed, Bath & Beyond at a reasonable price. I particularly love that they are cordless. I don’t know if Sunday likes to play with strings as much as Crème does, but cords would be a disaster in our house.
There are a ridiculous amount of people at Penn State on any given day. It can definitely be overwhelming.
