Painting on Glass – Pintar en vidrio
A couple of weeks ago I went to my mother, and she put me to work. I guess it is only fair since I always have projects for her to do when she comes to visit me. She wanted to make glasses for her Bunko group. First we had to come up with a design. There were several versions, but this is the one we went with in the end. We taped it on the inside of the glass to use as a template for painting.
Hace unos años fui a visitar a mi mamá y ella me hizo trabajar.
We used the assemble method. She painted the pumpkin, then I painted the lettering and the stem and she finished with the curly cue vine.
We did not have a lot of time to paint them, since I had to leave. We probably could have done a better job, but I don’t think they look too bad. They are just supposed to be a fun hostess gift.
After the paint dried my mother was going to put them in the oven for a while to cure them. This is a special kind of paint that can be baked on. I did not get to see the finished product because I had to leave to return home. I heard that they turned out well. They were looking good when I left.
This was a fun little project – something that I think would be fun to do with children.
They’re cute! I was afraid you were going to say your mom put them in the oven and they shattered–Whew! Happy ending!
Thank goodness that didn’t happen! That is what would have happened had I done it, but she is more careful than I.
Beautiful work!!
Thanks! Mom sends her best.
They look great! I recently tried a glass painting project and it was a complete disaster but after seeing how well yours turned out I’ll have to have another try! x
Yes, for whatever reason, we didn’t have any trouble at all.
Now that’s something I might actually be able to do.
Great job!
It was fun – you should try it!
wow! how did i miss this? great project! your mom’s house seems to have very similar wall colors to ours! at least what i could see 🙂
was it glass paint that you used?
My mom and I bought that house together in 2003, and we picked those colors together. 🙂 I still love them! We did use glass paint for the glasses.
