Shall I Play For You, Pa Rum Pum Pum Pum, On My Drum?
O.K. I cannot actually play the drum, but I can dress it up for Christmas. You may remember how I made over this drum I found in the trash, but if not you can read “Drum Roll, Please!” This is how it normally looks.
I got the idea to decorate the drum for Christmas because I had to wash the shirt that lines the top. My brother came to visit several weeks ago and spilled a drink on the drum. I decided to cover the top in red fabric for the holidays. This old sweatshirt was the perfect thing. Crème made sure that I did everything correctly.
Originally, I planned to use pictures that were taken at Christmas time over the years. However, as I was looking through my box of pictures, I found our Christmas cards from the past three years and decided to use those.
All I had to do was put the drum back together. Easiest Christmas decoration ever! All of the cards were made at Shutterfly.com.
It is nice to remember our progress as a couple. This is the card from our first year of dating. We both had elderly canines that passed away the following year. We still miss Freckles the Freak and Sambucca.
The next year we got engaged and started planning the wedding. Our holiday cards were also save the date cards.
Last year we sent a photo from our wedding the previous summer.
I am excited to show the cards from this year, but those will have to wait. We still have not mailed them, and I do not want the recipients to see them first on my blog.
As for the drum, it has been a big success. Crème finds it the perfect launch pad from which to attack the tree.
I hope your holiday decorating is going well. We still have not adorned our tree! At least, I have the drum to bring out my festive spirit. For some reason I cannot get the song “The Little Drummer Boy” out of my head.
Happy Homemaking!
