She Got Hers….Here’s His
There has been a new addition to the living room.
You might remember that we got a new couch a couple of months ago. I searched for months before I found something that I liked within the price range I set. If you have not been following the blog for long, you can read about the story about how we got it and when we set it up. Here is a picture of the sofa in our living room.
So, why would we be looking for another couch? We would not, but last weekend Douglas came home from a run and asked me to go with him to pick something up. He had passed a chaise lounge on the side of the road. We were lucky that it fit in the truck, if it had been an inch longer, it would not have. It was in front of a nice house in a good neighborhood and looked clean. We still left it in the truck for a week in the freezing weather. If there had been any bugs, of the bed or any other variety, they would have died in that time. So, now it is in our living room across from the circular couch. Douglas calls them “her couch” and “his couch”. I plan to reupholster it someday, but it is fine for now. It is actually extremely comfortable. Update: The chaise has since been reupholstered!
We did not get around to any projects this weekend. There was a large snowstorm here in the Northeast, and we had to take time to shovel and play in all that snow. Here is a picture of the Cape of Dreams in a couple of feet of snow. I cannot take credit for that awesome snowman. It is in front of my neighbor’s house.
Kahlua and Crème had mixed feelings about the snow.
Happy Homemaking!
Love the new couch — great find!
We love it too. It is amazing what you can find in the trash!
Nice trash find! I wonder why they threw it out… looks to be in amazing condition. Maybe it was there when they moved in or something.
When you see it in person, there is wear on the fabric, but most of it is on the back. I am fine with it for now and will reupholster it when I find fabric that I really like.
I love it!! Can’t believe that came from the trash!
Thanks! I love it too.
Love the round couch ! Can’t wait to have brunch there with you guys 😀
Thank you! We can’t wait to have you here. When are you coming?
I love free stuff! The couches really compliment each other…. Like it was meant to be. Enjoy the snow and then maybe some hot chocolate while curled up on the new couch!
Free stuff is awesome, especially when it is this nice. This week is crazy busy for me, but things will slow down next week, and I will be happy for some hot chocolate, a good book and a nap on the chaise. I hope everything is going well in Austin.
Love the chaise, but mostly I love that picture of Kahlua & Crème in the snow! Black pets + red collar + white snow = awesome 🙂 I’ve seen that pic rotate through your header and I always love it! I wish our kitties could go out. I think they wish they could, too. But it’s too dangerous with the busy road we’re on and the possibility of coyotes and fisher cats.
Crème is only allowed outside with us. She is too scared to go far! It does make me sad that I cannot let her roam, but I would feel worse if something happened to her.
