The Plan – El plan

Now that you know that we are back in the Cape of Dreams, would you like to know our plan from here? Good. Me too. I’ll let you know once we figure it out. Just kidding. I have a plan; executing it is the problem.

Ahora que saber que estamos de vuelta en el Cabo de Sueños, ¿te gustaría conocer nuestro plan para el futuro? Bien. A mí también. Te lo haré saber una vez que lo sepamos. Es una broma. Tengo un plan; ejecutarlo es el problema.

This post has taken me a while to write for a couple of reasons. First, of all, Douglas and I were in Ibiza a couple of weeks ago. I need to tell you that story someday. However, the biggest reason is that the house is a mess. We have not been able to unpack and find places for everything because we have not finished painting the upstairs. Also, because the boys are in too many activities, and I can’t seem to stay on top of everything. Therefore, you will have to excuse the piles of laundry waiting to be put away, and the things piled everywhere. I hope that showing my reality will make you feel better about the lack of perfection in your own life, because let’s be honest, it is hard to keep it all together all the time.

Esta publicación me ha tomado un tiempo para escribir por un par de razones. En primer lugar, Douglas y yo estuvimos en Ibiza hace un par de semanas. Necesito contarte esa historia algún día. Sin embargo, la razón principal por la tardanza es que la casa está hecha un desastre. No hemos podido desempacar y acomodar todo porque no hemos terminado de pintar el piso de arrriba. Además, es difícil porque los niños están en un montón de actividades y parece que no puedo estar al tanto de todo. Por eso, tendrás que disculpar las pilas de ropa que esperar guardarse en las cajones y las cosas apiladas por todas partes. Espero que mostrar mi realidad te haga sentir mejor acerca de la falta de perfección en tu propia vida, porque seamos honestos, es imposible mantenerlo todo perfecto todo el tiempo, ¿no?

You might know that when I first purchased the home, I rented out the second floor apartment. This allowed me to purchase the home as a single woman. It still worked out well once Douglas moved in, but when the boys arrived, things got a little tight. That was when we decided to buy the Pink House, which wasn’t pink yet. Then we rented both apartments.

Es posible que sepas que cuando compré la casa en el 2010, alquilé el apartamento del primer piso. Esto me permitió comprar la casa como mujer soltera. Todavía funcionó bien una vez que Douglas se mudó, pero cuando llegaron los muchachos, las cosas se pusieron un poco difíciles. Fue entonces cuando decidimos comprar la Casa Rosada, que aún no era rosada. Luego alquilamos ambos apartamentos.

When we decided to move back to the smaller house, we decided to convert it into a single family again. That meant that we had to remove the kitchen and paint. Because the upstairs tenant refused to move when we asked her to, everything was delayed for a bit. We still have a lot of stuff stored in a pod. I finished painting the boys’ bedroom. Once I finished painting what is going to be our family room, we hope to be able to start moving things in.

Cuando decidimos regresar a la casa más pequeña, decidimos convertirla nuevamente en vivienda de una sola familia. Eso significó que tuvimos que desmontar la cocina y pintar ese cuarto. Debido a que la inquilina de arriba se negó a mudarse cuando se lo pedimos, todo se retrasó un poco. Todavía tenemos muchas cosas almacenadas en un pod. Terminé de pintar el dormitorio de los niños. Una vez que termine de pintar lo que será nuestra sala familiar, esperamos poder comenzar a mudar las cosas.
