Top Posts of 2014
It is always interesting when the WordPress end of year annual report comes out. I enjoy seeing my blog statistics, especially the most popular posts for the year.
Interestingly enough, my most viewed posts of 2014 were all published in 2012 and 2013. The top two were projects from our wedding in 2012. I am not sure why #3 or #4 are so popular, but who am I to argue with success? #5 is about my favorite piece in the house and therefore does not surprise me at all.
#2 Wedding DIY – Personalized Hershey Kisses
#3 What’s Your Opinion… on Couch Color?
The following are the most popular posts that were published in 2014. The first post is about the reupholstering of our couch. I do love that piece. However, the kitchen renovation was my most popular project of the year. All but the #1 post are about failures and triumphs in the kitchen. Luckily there were more of the latter!
#1 Craigslist Circular Couch – Update
#2 Minute Changes in the Kitchen
#5 Disappointment in the Kitchen
The other statistic that I love to check out is from whom I have received the most comments. The feedback I receive from my readers is what makes blogging worthwhile for me. I truly appreciate each and every comment. This year my top commenters were Magali, D’Arcy, Jo, Douglas and Jenilyn. You should totally check out their blogs, if you have not already. They are great, except for my sister’s blog, which does not exist. Isn’t she cute, though?
Overall, 2014 was a great year, and I hope that 2015 will be even better. Thank you so much to all of my readers whether you comment or not. I appreciate your support.
Happy Homemaking!
Thanks for the shout out. I love you and your awesome blog!
I love you too, and I think that you would be an awesome blogger if you ever chose to start one.
Nice recap. My most read posts also were not from last year, mostly from 2011 when I posted all about homemade, FREE, bamboo trellises for the garden. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
There are definitely certain things that peak interest a lot more than others. I suppose that we could try to focus on those, but I prefer to just write about whatever happens to be going on in my life and not worry about page views too much. Blogging is a lot more relaxing that way.
I love reading your blog and that’s why I love commenting! Thanks for mentionning me!
I am glad that you enjoy my blog because I appreciate your comments so much. I also really do love your blog about your little cottage in Brittany. It is such a beautiful place, and I knew so little about it until I started reading your blog.
Nice! I love that circular couch so much. I think that you are pretty much my only comment-leaver on my blog. Such is the danger of setting up a blog on blogger, I’m told (now, too late and too lazy to change….)
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I don’t know anything about blogger, so I cannot offer an opinion on that, but I know that the most effective way to start getting comments on your blog is to comment on other blogs. I have gotten to know some great people that way.
Thank YOU for being one of my most faithful commenters! I’ve been wondering what to write about next … maybe I’ll be a copycat. And speaking of cats … I love that sweet pic of Crème showing you how to polish the cabinets! 🙂
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Copy away!
Great posts! The DIY photo shoot looks like so much fun! Hope your 2015 is going super well.
Thanks! We are not as far along with our goals as we would like to be, but it’s been a good year so I won’t complain.
