Visit with Dad
Today’s Costa Rica post has been postponed because I spent the weekend in Oklahoma visiting my father. I asked his wife to take picture of my sister and I with him yesterday after church, but I guess she did not press the button far enough because there was no picture on my camera last night when I was editing them. Here is a blurry picture of dad with my nephew Bill, who just had eye surgery.
My dad was not doing very well when I got here. He had a great day on Thursday, but on Friday and Saturday, he kept throwing up and was feeling pretty lousy. On Saturday, he went off all of his pain medications because the doctors felt that they were the cause of his queasiness. Thankfully, he says that he is not feeling sharp pain. he describes it as discomfort and not feeling well. My sister and I have spend time at his house, mostly coloring and watching movies with him.
Other than spending time with my father, I was able to see my brother in law’s band play on Friday night with my sister and cousin Kate, do some yoga, and get a massage. I did manage to get to the Mont last night for one Sooner Swirl. We also took my father to church on Sunday morning. It was wonderful that he felt well enough to go.
All the rest of my pictures from this visit seem to be of animals. My dad’s dog Boone, Kate’s cat Gus, my niece Lucy and nephew Bill, my nieces Penny and Martha. Also, don’t you love the green floors in my sister’s kitchen?
I leave for home this afternoon. If all goes well, I will be back with another post on Wednesday.
Happy Travels!
glad to hear your dad is recovering. i’m sure it perked him up a lot to have his girls home with him! and he’s got poor Bill to keep him company. love the green floors!
Bill and my dad were commiserating. They both had to go off of their medication because they were throwing up so much.
Your Dad looks pretty good in the picture. Best to be off pain meds. I’m sure his leg bothers him more than anything. LOVE the green floor! Sorry you had to miss Junior and the race.
It was such a shame that I had to come on Toughman weekend, but it was great to see my dad. I think my visit really helped him.
That’s a cute picture of your dad and Bill! I hope he is doing better every day. I bet it takes a while to get over that kind of surgery.
The green floor is rockin’!
He is well on the way to recovery. I am so glad! Every time I come home from visiting my sister, I think that I need a green floor in my home.
You must be relieved now that you’ve had a visit with your dad. So glad he’s recovering well. Floors are such a large decorative area that we often forget to utilize in a fantastic way. Green floor makes that kitchen zing! Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
The green floor was a surprise that her husband gave her when she returned home from a trip. I have always loved it. My dad was doing much better than I expected so I do feel better now. All of the prayers helped!
Thanks for sharing an update about your dad. It was also to see pictures of all of the animals and my nieces.??❤
We love you! Thanks for leaving a comment.
It was wonderful to have you here! I’m glad you guys like the green floors, I love them too!
Thank you for being such a great host. It was wonderful to spend time with you in your home.
I’m happy to read your dad is recovering, even if there are ups and downs.
He is doing amazingly well.
