What Color House? – ¿Qué color de casa?

There has been a lot going on at the Cape of Dreams lately. I believe that the change of temperature has been good for me. I am a lot lazier when it is hot outside! In the past couple of weeks, I have been working on projects that I had been putting off for months, and I am a lot happier. Poor Douglas has been sick, and therefore not working on much, so I guess that it is good that at least one of us has been productive. On Sunday we went to see Kurios by Cirque du Soleil in New York City, which was a treat. We were in the front row.

Ha habido mucho progreso en el Cabo de Sueños recientemente. Creo que el cambio de clima me ha sido bueno. Estoy más perezoso cuando hace mucho calor afuera. En las últimas semanas he estado trabajando en todos los proyectos en los que había procrastinado por meses, y estoy mucho más feliz. El pobre Douglas ha estado enfermo y no haciendo casi nada, así que es bueno que al menos uno de nosotros ha estado haciendo progreso. El domingo fuimos a ver la obra de Kurios de Cirque du Soleil en la ciudad de Nueva York, y la pasamos muy bien. Nos sentamos en la primera fila.

Although I have been getting a lot done, I have not been diligent about writing blog posts, and there are several projects that I need to tell you about. However, I am going to skip over all of them in order to ask you what color you think we should paint the exterior of the house.

Aunque he estado terminando muchos proyectos, no he estado escribiendo de ellos y hay muchos artículos que necesito escribir. Sin embargo, voy a brincar por encima de ellos para preguntarte qué color deberíamos pintar el exterior de la casa.

In the following pictures, the taupe color is Stone Hearth.  The far right or bottom green color is Cypress Green, the middle is High Park and the far left or top is Hillside Green. All colors are by Benjamin Moore.

The reason that Douglas is walking around with Crème is that she was howling inside the house to be let out. He assumed that she was angry that she was not able to give her opinion on the house color. She seems to prefer one color, but I am not going to tell you which until I get your opinion.

La razón por la cual Douglas tiene Crème en los brazos es porque ella estaba aullando allí adentro y quería salir de la casa. Douglas pensaba que estaba enojada porque no podía darnos su opinión del color. Ella parecer preferir uno de los verdes, pero no te voy a decir cuál antes de que me digas cuál te gusta más a ti.

I painted swatches on three sides of the house because I know that the color will look different on the different sides. I did not paint any on the fourth side because we never go over there. I am also hoping that having the patches of color where people can see them from the road will motivate us to get the work done. A friend of ours is going to do the painting, and I am hoping that he can start this weekend.

Pinté una muestra en tres paredes de la casa porque sabía que el color se ve diferente en luces distintas. No pinté nada en la cuarta pared, porque nunca estamos allí. También espero que tener las franjas de colores donde la gente puede verlas de la calle nos dará la motivación de terminar el proyecto. Un amigo nuestro nos va a hacer la pintura, y espero que la puede empezar este fin de semana.

Besides picking the house color, we are debating what to do with the trim. We are thinking that we will either leave it white or paint it Stone Hearth. If we paint it Stone Hearth, we are unsure what should be done with the gutters and drainpipes. There are too many things to consider!!!!!!

Además de escoger la pintura principal de la casa, estamos debatiendo que hacer con las molduras. Estamos pensando dejarlas blancas o pintarlas de gris pardo – Stone Hearth. Si las pintamos con Stone Hearth, no sabemos qué vamos a hacer con los vierteaguas. ¡¡¡¡Hay demasiadas cosas que considerar!!!!
