Getting Back in the Groove – Encontrar el ritmo

The past two weeks have been craaaazzzzyyy. It started with the leak. First, we thought that it was from outside, then we thought it came from upstairs, after that it seemed that we had it fixed, and then it turned out that it wasn’t. There is a whole long story associated with it, but it is a tale for another time. I plan to write it soon. Very soon.

Tengo planeado escribirlo pronto. Muy pronto.

On Thursday, March 17, the NCAA Division I wrestling tournament was in town, and a good percentage of my family was there. I, however, was busy at work and disappointed that I could not be there with them. I was at least able to go in for the Friday and Saturday evening sessions. It was great to hang out with the family, but there were a lot of people I would have liked to spend time with and did not get the chance to.

On Sunday, we went to Macy’s to see the flower show, and then went to Brooklyn to get together with some of our cousins.

After that my mother and brothers came back to our house to spend the night. It was nice to spend time with them, and for poor Douglas to get a chance to hang out. He was stuck at home the whole time trying to fix the leak. The next day, my mother took the animals home with her to care for while we were in Scotland. We appreciated her help, but it was sad to watch them go.

On Tuesday evening we left for the airport, for what would be a tremendous trip to the United Kingdom. There is much to tell, but once again you are going to have to wait.

I promise to begin writing more regularly now. As soon as we got back both Douglas and I began working on home projects. The break was exactly what we needed to rejuvenate us.

Happy Homemaking!

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. You can read about my projects on my blog www.CapeofDreams.com

  2. Welcome home to the leak and the snow and the critters! It looks like Crème has it all figured out. Can’t wait to hear about Scotland–the UK will be our next overseas destination, but it will be a while.
I saw a manikin in a sports store tonight just like your yoga lamp ladies!

    • It has been a whirlwind since we got back, but it is good to be with our beasties again. I hope to start writing about Scotland soon.
