Getting Greener
On Monday, Douglas left to visit a friend. Here is how the kitchen cabinets looked when he left.
That afternoon, I had a doctor’s appointment and decided to make a few stops on my way home. I had to go to Home Depot to buy translucent film for the bathroom window, but something distracted me. When he got home, I asked him what he thought of the transformation. He told me it looked great.
On Wednesday morning I walked in on him observing the new plants in the kitchen. “Did we have those plants, or did you buy new ones?” “Ummmm. We had them?” He just shook his head. Darn, guilty again, will I ever be able to stop myself?
The old toolbox was pulled from the trash a couple of years ago and has been sitting waiting for one of us to be inspired how to use it. I think that it looks great with the plants, and it will look even better once the plants grow down over the sides.
The copper teapot was my mother’s. She brought it to our yard sale a couple of years ago in hopes of selling it, but Douglas liked it, so she gave it to him instead. The plant is in a pot I put inside, in order not to damage the kettle.
At least plants are a relatively cheap thing to collect. I saved myself some money by purchasing two plants that I divided into smaller pots. What do you think of the new additions?
Happy Homemaking!
Very nice! What kind of plant are they? Prayer plants? I used to have one, but it died. I loved the different colors in the leaves. And I think they close up at night?
I am not sure what they are. The ones that I picked up did not have tags. Grrr. I just know that they were in the low light section, so hopefully they will do well on top of the cabinets.
It looks great, greener and perfect for spring!
Getting close to spring is definitely making me crave plants! I cannot wait to be out working in the garden. 🙂
