Spooky Decor – Adornos escalofriantes
The boys are so excited for Halloween. Several weeks ago I found some great costumes at TJ Max. They are going to be a knight and a dragon. I will be the princess in distress, but here I am trying on Little D’s costume.
And here he is screaming that it is his and not mine. Torturing small children seems to be a talent of mine.
Little D had been terrified of decorating, but we talked about it a lot until he finally felt comfortable with the idea of having scary things around the house. I knew that he would feel better if he helped decorate.
Both boys enjoyed adorning the house with a mixed assortment of themed decorations.
There are cobwebs, spiders and faces draped or tucked around the living room.
We have spiders and blinking eyes in the windows.
My darling niece is a superhero for the season.
Pumpkins and other ghoulish knickknacks have been dispersed throughout the room.
The boys determined where to put most of the decor with a few decorations with me. They taped bats to the windows and walls along with several masks.
Rats scurry around the baseboards hoping to free the one caught in the trap.
The refrigerator has been cleared of everything that does not fit the Halloween theme. Our black cat adds the perfect touch wherever she goes.
We are happy with our spooky decor, but unfortunately there are other things that are truly terrifying us. Stay tuned for details.
Happy Halloween!
¡Feliz Día de las Brujas!
Halloween must be lots more fun when there are kids to share it . . . but that final photo IS the really scary part. I’m trying to guess where it is–under your back porch, perhaps? Old houses are full of surprises. :0
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, and now it is even better. I am still trying to figure out how we are going to hand out candy and go trick or treating, though, since Douglas gets off work so late. Minor problems! You are correct about where the damage is. I thought that this was going to be a quick one-weekend project. Silly me!
such darling children!
good luck resolving your infestation,
the “fun” never ends for homeowners
So much for hoping it would be an easy project! Owning a house can be such a headache.
Oh Oh – that last picture is truly scary.
It’s terrifying, Barbara! I just wish we could magically make it go away.
love it! i’m glad little D finally got over his fear. that was really smart to kind of let him/them lead the way with the decorations. makes so much sense! love the costume. always love what you do for halloween!
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, and it is even more fun with kids. I want them to like it as much as I do.
So fun for everyone to have a related theme for Halloween. The dragon is fabulous. A cape takes any costume to the next level. The boys will have tons of fun.
Especially like the baseboard mice. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
The baseboard mice have me singing “Three Blind Mice”. I hope we have a nice night for trick or treating!
I understand how hallowe’en decorations can be frightening for a little boy, but I bet that now he helped he’s happy about the decor!
He has not brought up being scared since we decorated so I guess it worked!
Proud to call this young lady my daughter. Great Mother and quite the decorator too!
Thank you! We love you.
